Dr. S M Kawser Zafor Prince

Welcome to my website! I am S M Kawser Zafor Prince, a public health professional and medical doctor with a deep commitment to improving healthcare systems and making a positive impact on society. I am currently pursuing my MSc in Epidemiology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

My Journey

My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I furthered my education with a Master of Public Health from Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology. My experiences span across teaching, clinical practice, and information technology, which together form a unique blend of skills and expertise.

Professional Experience

Teaching and Academia:

• Teaching Assistant, Department of Pharmacy, Dalhousie University: I lead tutorial classes, provide student assessments, and support academic development.
• Lecturer of Community Medicine, Popular Medical College, Dhaka: I conducted tutorial classes, participated in curriculum development, and engaged in departmental research projects.

Clinical Practice:

• Clinical Assistant, Popular Medical College Hospital: I assisted in clinical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments under the guidance of the Head of the Department of Medicine.
• Chief Resident, American College of Physicians, Bangladesh Chapter: I organized seminars, workshops, and health camps, and coordinated with international delegates.

Information Technology:

• Classroom Technologies Support, Dalhousie University: I provide technological assistance to students and faculty, ensuring smooth operation of classroom technologies and campus events.
• IT Consultant, Evergreen Trading International Ltd: I developed and maintained the company's website and internal servers, troubleshooting and managing various IT needs.

Research and Publications

I have been involved in several research projects, contributing to the fields of Mental Health, Health Equity, hematology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. My work has been published in various reputable journals, highlighting significant findings and advancements in medical science.

Community Involvement

I am passionate about community service and have founded several clubs, including the Leo Club of Dhaka Central Rajdhani and the PMC Photography Club. I have also been an active member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Medicine in Bangladesh.

Awards and Achievements

My dedication to excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the 2023/24 Master’s Scotia Scholars Award from Research Nova Scotia and the BMRC Student Research Grant. I have also received accolades in science fairs and leadership competitions.

Skills

I am proficient in statistical software like STATA and SPSS, graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and web development technologies. My language skills include English, Bangla, and Hindi.

Personal Interests

In addition to my professional pursuits, I enjoy photography and sharing tech tips on my YouTube channels, @PKTechTipsBD and @ACPBangladeshChapter.
