Current Projects

This page contains some of the projects that I am currently working on.

1. Advancing Health Equity in Nova Scotia by Identifying and Exploring Gaps in Healthcare Delivery

Project "ADDING HEAT" (i.e., AD[D]vancING HEAlth equiTy) aims to examine healthcare delivery in Nova Scotia (NS) and inform the development of a model of care that will change how the current system works so it addresses Nova Scotians' health needs more effectively and efficiently.

Any Nova Scotian who's 16 years of age or older can participate. We’re taking extra steps to engage Nova Scotians who belong to underserved groups because we believe that members of these groups can tell us the most about what needs to change in the health system.

We're currently in phase one (see project timeline). Various underserved groups that members of our team belong to will be engaged at a series of meetings where the project will be discussed, as will the methods we plan to use, and options that are available for people to contribute (e.g., participants, partners). We're taking this approach so we can involve as many people in the project as possible and to build a foundation for future work.

Aside from community engagement organizing activities, we're also in the process of preparing to review resources that are available to healthcare providers that would assist them in delivering more equitable care to Nova Scotians.

2. Using digital phenotyping data to predict psychosis episode
